Our bodies are made up of muscles, bone, blood, energy, and subtle energy. Small pulses of energy tell our bodies when to move, how to move, and how to function! These small pulses are part of a larger network of energy called chakras. Chakras are the spiritual and energetic centers of our body. There are many of these energy vortexes within our bodies. However, we primarily recognize the main 7 that are aligned through the center of our body. These energy centers open and close to help regulate our daily vibration.
Many people believe that chakras exist on the astral plane. However, we are able to view and manipulate them on the physical plane. As with all energy work, anything done of the physical plan resonates and enacts change through the higher, more subtle planes of existence. So, in the physical realm, we work with chakras based on the location of their vortexes within our physical bodies. We do this by visualizing the chakras as colored energy and then placing crystals on or flowing Reiki through the chakras on our bodies! In order to do this, you’ll need to know where your chakras are located.
Where are my chakras located?
Each chakra is located along your spine, starting at the tip of the tailbone and up through the top of the head. It’s important to keep in mind that when you do chakra work, your chakra extends from the front of your body to the back.
Where is the Root Chakra located?
The Root Chakra, or Muladhara, is located at the tip of the tailbone.
Where is the Sacral Chakra located?
The Sacral Chakra, or Svadhishthana, is located approximately two inches below your belly button. We like to think of it as resting cozily between your pelvic bones.
Where is the Solar Plexus Chakra located?
The Solar Plexus Chakra, or Manipura, is located right at your diaphragm, at the bottom of your ribs.
Where is the Heart Chakra located?
The Heart Chakra, or Anahata, is located in the center of your chest at the same level as your heart.
Where is the Throat Chakra located?
The Throat Chakra, or Vishuddha, is located right at the dip of your collar bones.
Where is the Third Eye Chakra located?
The Third Eye Chakra, or Ajna, is located an inch above your eyes, in the center of your forehead.
Where is your Crown Chakra located?
The Crown Chakra, or Sahasrara, is located on the top of your head.
