Self-Care Rituals: Your #WiccanChat Recap

This week on #WiccanChat, we asked our beautiful Sisters and Brothers what they’d love to chat about! They chose Self-Care! We don’t realize how important it is to care for ourselves in today’s hectic and distant lifestyle; after all, we can’t heal others if we aren’t healthy, ourselves! Our Sisters and Brothers of The Craft answered questions and shared their favorite self-care rituals and more on Twitter as part of Plentiful Earth’s Wiccan Chat! This was our fifth Twitter chat, and we look forward to seeing our Pagan Twitter community grow!

Read our magickal recap below, and feel like you were part of the magick! Follow us on Twitter, and be sure to join us on Twitter every Wednesday at 11am Central time! We cover a new Wiccan topic every week!

Wiccan Chat Self-Care Rituals

Icebreaker: If you were in your magickal space, and all you had was pink rose petals, myrrh, and rose quartz, what self-care ritual would you create?

Answers from the Wiccan Community:

  • “IB: Heart opening/filling. Smolder myrrh on charcoal, make a circle of rose petals, hold the rose quartz, and just soak it in. @NorthwestWitch
  • “Ice Breaker: In my space, that would be an invocation to the Feminine. Everything I do begins with Her. “Ancestor, Animal, Maiden, Crone: Guide this journey till my work is done.” @madrabanrion
  • “I.B.: Breathing in the calming smells until I’m…Calm. Clean and simple. #WiccanChat” @BreakdownGraphx
  • “need2make time4physical self care but also #spiritual #selfcare .If I’m not spiritually grounded?I’m less likely2take physical care of self” @Brenna_Etian

Q1: When our bodies relay the sensation that we’re thirsty, we’re actually already dehydrated. How can you apply this fact to self-care?

Answers from the Wiccan Community:

  • “A1: If we FEEL the need for self-care, we’re probably already depleted. Making time for it regularly prevents becoming drained.” @NorthwestWitch
  • “A1: I tend to go go go until I collapse. Few ppl in my life seem to acknowledge I need self care until it’s too late.” @madrabanrion
  • “A1: When you’re exhausted you’re already past the point of needing some you time. Regular self-care rituals will help prevent or lessen  he burnout. It is critical that we take care of ourselves to always be replenishing our inner well of energy” @wickedwitch1987
  • “A1 I find that if you tend to take just 10 min to root yourself or meditate it will be refreshing for body and soul. #Wiccanchat”@Wicca_BluMoon

Answers from the Wiccan Community:

  • “A2: I’ve started saying “when I can”–and that’s sort of the same thing as no. 🙂 ” @julidrevezzo
  • “A2: I’m getting better at it! I had hard lessons at work that turned into a great teacher of the power + necessity of “No”!” @abutterflywitch
  • “A2 Being both autistic and an empath, “No” is probably tossed around a lot more than it should be. I don’t like being around ppl.” @autisticwitchy
  • “A2: I say no a lot! I started about 2 years ago telling people no when I normally would say yes even if I didn’t want to.#WiccanChat. It’s amazing how much better I feel now that I’m honoring myself. @JoannaDeVoe says “you don’t owe anyone your time”. I live by that.” @wickedwitch1987
  • “A2: As an empath I’ve had to get good at telling people “no”. I do a lot of shielding work so I don’t HAVE to say no as often. #WiccanChat” @NorthwestWitch
