How to Use a Pendulum for Simple Yes or No Questions

  1. How to Hold Your Pendulum

First, hold your pendulum with your dominant hand; energy flows from your head down and from your receptive hand to your dominant hand, and that energy is what moves the weight of the pendulum. Additionally, your dominant hand’s muscles are stronger than your receptive hand’s muscles; this reduces false movements of the weight caused by shaking hands. Next, drape the string over your index or middle finger and hold the ball with your thumb.

  2. Charge Your Pendulum

Just like with any spiritual tool, you need to charge it with your positive, flowing energy; this connects your divination tool to your energy and to the energy of your Higher Self. Visualize your body glowing with white, silver, or purple light from the inside out. See that light traveling down your arm, through your hand, flowing down the string, and down to the tip of the weight. Feel that your tool is cleansed and ready for use.

  3. Calibrate Your Pendulum

First, ask the weight to be still, and do the same between questions. Next, ask two or three yes or no questions that you know the answer of. This step shows you how your pendulum will answer your questions in this session. Great examples of calibration questions are, “Is my name Aurora Moone?” or “Am I sitting down?” Because you know the answers to these questions, all you have to do in this step is watch which way the weight swings and take note of the movement. For this session, yes might be a forward and backward movement and no might be a left and right movement. Other times, yes could be a clockwise movement and no could be a counterclockwise movement.

  4. Ask Your Questions

Finally, ask your unknown yes or no questions. Look for the yes and no movements from the calibration step to get your answers. Remember to thank your pendulum and ask it to be still between each question! Have fun and practice often!
