Ostara, Eostre, Vernal Equinox, and Spring Equinox are all beautiful ways to refer to the celebration of Spring every year! As the wheel of the year turns again, we find ourselves at a new point of balance within the year. Ostara is a time when the day and night are equals in time, when the God and the Goddess are equals in love, and the true understanding of life and energy can be seen.
What is Ostara?
During Ostara, Wiccans and Pagans celebrate the ability to create, manifest, love, and gain a deeper understanding of life. Physically, new life is beginning to spring up from seemingly dead earth, love is in the air, spawning creation, and energy is returning to earth, as the days begin to grow longer.
Metaphysically, the Goddess and God energies of the Universe are coming together as one, birthing the energy of creation. The Goddess supplies the energy of Earth as she begins to grow into a Mother; the God supplies the energy of the Sun, as he grows in strength and power.
