Life as a Witch in Today’s Society: Your #WiccanChat Recap
This week on #WiccanChat, we shared our deepest feelings on what it’s like to live as a Wiccan, Pagan, or Witch in today’s society! Our Sisters and Brothers of The Craft answered questions about how their lives have been shaped and continue to be shaped by magick on Twitter as part of Plentiful Earth’s Wiccan Chat! This was our second Twitter chat, and we look forward to seeing our Pagan Twitter community grow!
Read our magickal recap below, and feel like you were part of the magick! Follow us on Twitter, and be sure to join us on Twitter every Wednesday at 11am Central time! We cover a new Wiccan topic every week!

Q1: Are you a City or Country Witch? What are some advantages + disadvantages?
Answers from the Wiccan Community:
“City. You don’t get as much nature unless you hunt for it, but you’re around others that practice if you can find them. Nice to have a group”@tristar1693
“I think of myself as City, bc I spend most of my day here, but I live in the suburbs & am drawn to the rhythm of the land.”@madrabanrion
“City/suburbs. Love to be a country witch tho”@PaigeofMaces
Q3: Celebrities, major brand stores, and the media have started endorsing Wicca and Witchcraft. Is this appropriation?
Answers from the Wiccan Community:
“I feel like it can be, sometimes. Some magickal practices have definitely been appropriated! Smudging and hoodoo/voodoo come to mind”@FatFeministWitch
“I am not sure it’s appropriation exactly, but it is capitalism, which is just as bad.”@madrabanrion
“Unfortunately, the most representation i’ve seen us get, is more of a fashion statement to the people than a way of life or religion” @withinwicca
Q6: Would you say that this decade has been the easiest to practice Wicca? Why?
Answers from the Wiccan Community:
“I say yes, supernatural movies & shows are so common now & people are becoming more exposed to that sort of stuff, they are more accepting” @spookycammie
“Easiest for me, but Idk if that is because of the opening of society or my “I don’t give a fuck anymore” attitude that came with aging.” @madrabanrion
Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge with us! If you missed it, we look forward to seeing you next Wednesday!
