Also known as Candlemas and Groundhog Day, Imbolc is a beautiful Pagan celebration that signals the end of Winter and the coming of the Spring. Seasons change, and the wheel turns again! Sacred to the Celtic Goddess Brigid, some magickal practitioners call this day Brigid’s Day! Celebrate the waking of the trees, the revival of Earth, and the return of the Goddess! Surprise, this holiday is sacred to Persephone, as well!
Imbolc is the third stop on the Wiccan and Pagan Wheel of the Year! Standing for “belly of the Mother”, this third sabbat comes after Yule and before Ostara, and it is the time for realizing potential and making way for the new! The Earth, a.k.a. The Goddess, is pregnant with hope, love, light, and rebirth. The ground is softening after a hard freeze, and the ability for natural will is beginning to push new plants into existence. For Imbolc, the pregnant Earth’s new plants stand for your hopes, dreams, wishes, and will. Wiccans and Pagans alike use the energy of the return of the Goddess and her will to push new dreams into reality! This is a beautiful time for purification, new beginnings, nourishing your dreams, celebrating life, and sewing the seeds of your future!
