Jack's Samhain Guardian Spell

Originally from Llewellyn's 2012 Spell-A-Day Almanac

Yield: 1 Jack-O-Lantern

Materials

  • 1 Pumpkin Any pumpkin that calls to you
  • 1 Black Marker
  • 1 set Carving Tools

Instructions

  • Using the permanant black marker, draw a pentacle on the bottom of the pumpkin.
  • Place the pumpkin near your front door. Make sure not to leave it on concrete because it will rot faster.
  • When the moon rises, hold the pumpkin in your arms and repeat the following:
    “Precious Pumpkin, watch over my home
    Protecting from bane all you behold,
    By the power of this fruit in the pal moonlight
    Shield us from harm both day and night.”
  • Leave your enchanted pumpkin as your watchful Guardian beside your front door.
  • Tocomplete the spell, carve no more than one day before Halloween.
