Interview with David

In November 2010, I began the Magick Jukebox Podcast to help promote Pagan musicians and share their music with the world. Before long, I had amassed a major collection of Pagan music and had the wild idea of a festival where all these musicians could come together and make real magick happen.

Nobody did it for me.

So, in early 2015, I gathered together some trusted friends and made them partners in making my dream a reality. Seventeen months later, the first notes of CalderaFest 2016 were played on that stage.

Thirty acts one stage in three days, plus workshops, vendors, and more fun and frivolity than one man could handle. No doubt about it, CalderaFest 2016 was a history making event, and I knew before it was even over that I wanted to do it all over again.  So, in June 2016 we instantly began planning for CalderaFest 2017. This October 5th through the 9th, 2017 we will make magick again.

The lineup includes; Tuatha Dea, Tricky Pixie, Pandemonaeon, T Thorn Coyle, Spiral Dance, Brian Henke, Jenna Greene, Kiva, David Wood, Rowena of the Glen, Leo Starwind, Witch’s Mark, Arthur Hinds, Oshun Gaia, Bran Cerrdorion, Awakened Aquarius, Spellsinger, Sencha the Vate, Spidersong, and Delia Chariker.

With over 40 vendors, workshops, great food, and of course, the best in Pagan music on two stages, CalderaFest 2017 promises to be another historic event.

I hope to see you all there. Come by and say hi to me.

David Banach

Interview with Taja

CalderaFest was created by David Banach, host of the Magick Jukebox Podcast. First and foremost a fan of Pagan music, David found the genre to be wide and varied, from dark themes to fairy magic, rap to folk, craft metal to performance art. However, while many festivals had music at them, there were few that held music as its main attraction. This led to the idea of gathering many Pagan bands, from all spectrum of the genre, into one place, for one festival, where the magic of music was the focus.

Gathering together friends and family who have worked at, and put on festivals in the past, as well as a long list of musicians, David set out to see his dream come to fruition. Thus, CalderaFest 2016, a three-day Pagan Music Festival devoted entirely to the music, was born. It was a weekend filled with music and laughter.

Hailed as the “Pagan Woodstock,” CalderaFest Pagan Music Festival has been touted as a “a unique and powerful experience,” and is “accomplishing what has never been done before.” Those of us behind the scenes are committed to the celebration of Pagan Music, musicians, artists, and their fans.”

Now in our second year, we are again bringing together a group of people who tread the Pagan path. Our interest in music, in promoting this way of life, and the many fans of the genre, have made this festival possible. Please join us as we celebrate CalderaFest 2017.

We are also looking for volunteers. Volunteers get 66% discount on their tickets. We are looking for 90 volunteers, so if you think you can help just click volunteer tab on the website.
